Parris has worked on 80+ film, television, sports, and entertainment projects, with over 20 years of experience filming, staffing, and crewing feature films, television shows, documentaries, commercials, reality series, commercials, live events, concerts, podcasts, and digital streams. Amassing a broad range of skill sets during that time, he has experience in virtually every position in the production process, from casting director, camera operator, 1st AC, 2nd AC, production assistant, utility, boom mic operator, video editor, scriptwriter, producer, director, and other positions.
As a freelance cameraman and videographer, Parris has filmed professional sports, films, tv shows, and entertainment events, including filming SEC college football and basketball for Alabama, Auburn, LSU, MSU, JSU, etc.; musical concerts for artists such as Usher, Stevie Wonder, The Roots, The Dave Matthews Band, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, and others; NCAA March Madness basketball; NCAA collegiate track and field championships, NCAA swimming and diving; tv series such as home improvement shows, true crime documentaries, professional drag racing, and social impact films. He has been active in the field of photography and videography from childhood, ever since he built his first pin-hole camera and started developing his own images in a darkroom -- while still in elementary school. Since then, he has performed hundreds of photo/video shoots and worked with many high end models and celebrities.
Parris is also an award winning screenwriter of feature-length movie scripts. His latest screenplay, Free Soil, won awards in the Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest, Hollywood Screenplay Contest, Atlanta International Film Festival, Los Angeles Screenplay Contest, Oaxaca Film Festival, and the Las Vegas Screenplay Contest. The script is currently in consideration at other festivals.
Parris holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management (BSIM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. He previously worked as a process design engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, a freelance operator for ESPN, ESPN2, Webstream Media, Tupelo Honey, Cox Sports, Heritage Broadcasting, and others. He is currently President of Prismatic Productions and Vice-President of Operations at a disaster response and remediation company in Birmingham, Alabama.
